October 4, 2019: TAKE THE 33 DAY EME EQUALITY CHALLENGE
October 4, 2019 Robert Wood

For the next 33 days will you commit to posting our pro-ERA messages on your social media to urge Virginians to vote on November 5th?

We need your help. We are here in Suffolk, Virginia, working every day to educate the local population that the ERA is on the line in this election. Virginians need to know that other people care, that they have the support of women and our allies across the nation. One way we can show them that is to post our messages in solidarity.

Written by the great Judy Lotas, ERA-NC Network Leader and League of Women Voters North Caroline State Co-Chair on the ERA, these messages make clear the urgent need for the Equal Rights Amendment while hammering home the fact that there is an election coming up on November 5th in Virginia and that they must vote.

Here is the first post; please click on Thila’s beautiful graphic. It will take you to a page where you can download it. Bookmark and save this link as Thila will be adding the new post every evening for you to post the next day

Once you download the image, save it to your computer and then upload it again onto your own social media accounts.

We are doing everything we can to make sure that there is not a man/woman or child in the Commonwealth of Virginia who is not aware that equality for all Americans is on the line November 5th.

This week we hired ten local equality warriors to help canvas, flier, postcard and give out coasters, buttons and window signs to businesses all over two main areas of VA – Kirk Cox’s district up north, and Chris Jones’ district, where we are.

We are making ads, holding dinners, happy hours, speaking to people in the Walmart parking lot – whatever we can do – but we are now officially running on fume$ and could really use your immediate financial help.

There are only a few weeks left.  We need to leave it all on the field. The more people we can hire to get the word out this month, the better.  Please donate today.  Every dollar you give will be used right here on the ground in Virginia.

Here, for a historical palate cleanse, is our new episode of Woman’s Journal 2.0 where we interview ERA advocate and great-great granddaughter of famed suffragist Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Coline Jenkins. Coline’s ancestry and relentless dedication to women’s rights is inspirational. She brings her optimistic, no-nonsense approach to Woman’s Journal 2.0, & shares her powerful and simple ideas for how we can get over the finish line on ERA.
