TO WASHINGTON DC

With only 38 days left for President Biden to publish the Equal Rights Amendment, this truly is “the last stand” for the ERA.

EQUAL MEANS EQUAL will be joining our partners at Vote Equality US (previously VA Ratify ERA) on the ground from now until the end of the this administration or the publication of the ERA — whichever comes first.

We urge you to come to DC if you can and stand with us as we stand for equality.

The past week has shown that our efforts are having an effect nationally and rattling the administration but there are strong forces fighting against us, including some very prominent groups that on their face appear to be allies.  Behind the scenes, for whatever reasons, these credible and well-funded “women’s groups” are pressuring Biden NOT to publish the ERA.

Well, guess what?  EQUAL MEANS EQUAL is not standing for it and we are pushing back HARD. 
As an independent, non-partisan organization, we are 100% unencumbered by corporate funders or political parties.  Our only alliegance is to women, girls, marginalized people and the principles of equality and justice for all Americans.  The same cannot be said for many, if not most, of these recognized longstanding “feminist” or “women’s” organizations who have sat on their hands, or worse, since the 80s on the ERA and taken their paychecks from those who now influence them on strategy behind the scenes.

To any “feminist” organization or “scholar” that is presently working behind closed doors to prevent ERA publication:
WE WILL NOT LET YOU KILL THE ERA.

In fact, we will do everything in our power to make very clear TO THE PUBLIC that your feminism is a fraud and that you are more than willing to throw women and the ERA under the bus in the service of your own funding, fear and covert agenda. 

On a lighter and more positive note, the ranks of proponents for immediate publication are growing stronger every day. Many groups that had not been educated or focused on the issue of ERA are now coming to the table, recognizing that publication is our last best hope for saving our human rights from a clear and present danger.

And 46 US Senators who just sent a letter to the President urging him to publish the ERA immediately.

The media is also waking up to the issue with recent articles in Bloomberg Law, Daily Kos and Data for Progress finding “Voters Want Biden to Adopt the Equal Rights Amendment as the 28th Amendment to the Constitution.”

This week we also saw a strong press conference in Washington DC where Congressional ERA advocates made a direct appeal to Biden to publish the ERA immediately. We were extremely heartened to see the language shift to publication versus Congressional action, which, as you know is a boondoggle, designed to waste valuable time and energy.
