EQUAL MEANS EQUAL LAUNCHES OUR LARGEST PROJECT SINCE
THE DOCUMENTARY FILM

For the past ten months we have been single-mindedly dedicating our efforts to EQUAL MEANS EQUAL’s pro-ERA campaign, FINAL IMPACT.  Now, with only one month left before the Presidential elections, the fight for the ERA is more urgent than ever and we are stepping up to put the pressure ON. After an intense period of planning, organizing and preparation (which explains why you haven’t heard from us in a while..!) we are excited to be launching our most ambitious, high-profile action since the production of our award-winning documentary film.

Partnering with the City of West Hollywood, the City Council and the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors (3rd District), we will be covering the entire West Hollywood Public Library with the faces of hundreds of people photographed by Sonja Nuttall (EME’s Lead Advisor) at this year’s Pride Festival.  This diverse and joyful community joins us in urging the U.S. government, and the President, to PUBLISH THE EQUAL RIGHTS AMENDMENT NOW!

Winner of the the City Livability Award from the United States Conference of Mayors, the WeHo Public Library is a 33,150-square-foot building designed by architects Steve Johnson and James Favaro, and is a jewel in the crown of the city, sitting across the street from the world-famous Pacific Design Center.

Taking on a project of this magnitude is no easy task and we need your help!

Here is how you can get involved with this historic campaign:

FUNDING:

While we have been given a seed grant from the city, we need more money to maximize the impact of this action for the ERA – please consider a tax-deductible contribution to help us bring this urgent action to national awareness.

VOLUNTEERS:

We are working with a top professional art-installation company but still need helpers on the ground as we install over 1000 poster-sized images and words using boom lifts and other equipment.  If you are in Los Angeles and can help starting next week, please send an email to [email protected] with subject line VOLUNTEER and let us know your contact information and availability from October 7th through the 21st.

PROMOTION, PUBLICITY & PUBLIC RELATIONS:

The entire point of doing this is to bring the need for ERA publication to the forefront of the nation’s awareness in the context of the upcoming elections.  People need to understand that the economy, bodily autonomy, LGBTQ rights and much more are all presently being harmed by the failure of President Biden (and the U.S. Government) to publish and adopt the legally ratified 28th Amendment.
If you or someone you know has expertise or can offer pro-bono services in the area of PR, promotion, media outreach,  etc., please send an email to [email protected] with subject line PUBLICITY.

SOCIAL MEDIA MARKETING:

In today’s world, the power of the social media platforms cannot be overstated – it may well be the most important piece in the puzzle.  If you have expertise or can simply dedicate a few hours a day for the next month to help us expand our social media reach regarding the importance of ERA NOW, please send an email to [email protected] with subject line SOCIAL.

A giant QR code will be installed on the South corner of the building, printed materials will be available for pickup in the library and large informational banners will face out from the lobby.

In addition to the physical installation at the Library, the first ever of its kind, the City will be giving us a platform on all their digital assets including billboards, bus stops, buses, online and much more.

Here are some examples of what you will see on the streets when the project launches:

“FINAL IMPACT West Hollywood” will remain up and active until Christmas and has the opportunity, with your help and involvement, to not only engage and inform the population of Los Angeles, but the entire nation. The size and visibility of this community activation gives us the needed “hook” to bring up the issue with the mainstream media — if we are able to afford a robust publicity campaign.

Here is a little video of the test installation we just did at the library this week, in preparation for final approvals from the city to begin the full installation process.

Let us seize the moment together and push the government to recognize ERA as the 28th amendment while we still have the leverage of our vote.
Please help us make this public project as impactful as possible.
As always, we thank you for your continued support and hope you will find a way to get involved today.
with gratitude and love,

Kamala, Sonja, Donald, Natalie, Jules, Joel, Roberto and the EME Team
