The fight in Illinois is very very close. The anti-equality activists are out in full force across the state, telling Americans that equality is bad for women and that they should pressure their legislators to vote against the ERA.
They are telling people that the ERA equals abortion on demand, the end of the two distinct sexes, the implementation of a female draft and any number of frightening lies and tall tales to try to keep us from winning our basic civil and human rights.
But we won’t let them. And neither will the Honorable (and adorable 
) Lou Lang, sponsor of ERA in the Illinois House. Listen to his incredibly optimistic perspective on ERA – and remember, he’s been at this for 31 YEARS!
And to make the news just a bit sweeter still, here is the notorious RBG, Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg, opening a letter containing a copy of “Legalize Equality,” thanks to EME’s indefatigable supporter, Jean Sweeney.

A Great Way To Help if You Live in a Ratified State!
Ratify ERA Illinois activists have set up virtual, open phone banks for the 10 top priority target districts in Illinois. Volunteers can call from anywhere. All you need is a computer and a phone. You will be calling friendly voters who live in the target districts, asking them to call their state reps. and advocate for the ERA.
