All parties are trying to manipulate public perception and claim legal certainty while contradicting each other, and in many cases, themselves. The players?

Why are they all fighting so hard to stop ERA publication? Because the stakes are unprecedented: equal pay, equal justice, STRICT SCRUTINY UNDER LAW – for half the population. The ERA is the wholesale democratization of a system at a time when that very system is veering away from its democratic principles. The US Government, the system itself, is going to do everything they possibly can to stop us from getting our hard-won rights and use anyone and everyone willing to be used to do it.
