Vice President of Operations
Dr. Eileen Murphy is a lifelong feminist Chicago-based OB-GYN. She has advocated for the ERA since 1972. She delivered obstetrics and gynecology care in private practice for 18 years, with a concurrent dedication to care of women with disabilities. She segued to public health work at Federally Qualified Health Centers, then as an OB Hospitalist. She now serves at CommunityHealth, a free health care center for Chicago undocumented and uninsured. She has taught medical students at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine since 1988.
She joined the National ERA Publication Task Force in 2021 as co-chair, playing a vital role obtaining signatories for ERA supporting Congressional resolutions. Her expertise resides in showing up whenever possible — and mobilizing organizations to join efforts to support the validity of the ERA and legal strict scrutiny for all Americans.
In parallel, she is an Indivisible Marshall, a docent at the Chicago Field Museum of Natural History, an Exhibit Host at the Chicago Architecture Center, a volunteer at Nourishing Hope Food Pantry, and a Lasagna Love chef, delivering homemade lasagna to food insecure Chicagoan households.
