Call Your Senators Today for ERA

On January 27th, 2020, Virginia became the last necessary state to ratify the Equal Rights Amendment. Under Article V of the U.S. Constitution, amendments become “valid to all Intents and Purposes, as Part of this Constitution, when ratified by the Legislatures of three fourths of the several States…”, which means women are now fully equal citizens for the first time in history.

Yet the ERA has not yet been added to the Constitution because the United States Archivist is refusing to publish it in the Federal Register. This has caused a constitutional crisis.

The urgent Call-To-Action for women and our allies is to pressure your Senators – especially those in the 38 RATIFIED STATES.

When the people of each of the 38 ratified states voted to support equality of rights regardless of sex, they expected their representatives in Washington D.C. to represent them and their will to the Federal government.

Instead, weak and ineffectual Senators in pro-ERA states have sat back and watched as women’s equality and the will of the people is being stolen from us in slow motion before our very eyes.

As you know, there is an anti-woman juggernaut that is gaining steam everyday across our nation; we need all Senators in the 38 ratified states to stand up for the law and the women of their states.

Our Senators must tell President Biden to order the U.S. Archivist to publish the Equal Rights Amendment immediately. We need our government to respect the will of the people.

Below are tools to help with this urgent action:

Please do this immediately. Thank you.

Feel free to use this dialogue when you speak with your Senator’s office:

Senator x,
The people have spoken.
As of January 27, 2020 Women are citizens of equal stature under our Constitution.
The people of your State have ratified the Equal Rights Amendment.
The 28th Amendment being published is our right as citizens.
There is no issue that 38 States have ratified and the Constitution is amended under Article V.
The Archivist must publish the 28th Amendment the same way it published the 27th.
The legal issues are for the courts not for the Legislative or Executive Branch.
You are my Senator I expect you to support our Democracy not stand by while it is torn to shreds!
What are you doing every single day to move us out of this constitutional crisis?

Here is the letter you can download and mail to your Senator’s office; do this now!

There is a lot going on with the ERA, and we need all activists to presently stay alert and involved! Special thanks to EME Legal Counsel Wendy Murphy and Jean Sweeney, Esq. for their help with the letter and campaign.

EME has more exciting news to announce soon – keep the faith! The more people know about the present situation with the Equal Rights Amendment, the less likely our equality of rights can be denied.

Before you go on to your next task, please take a moment to call or write your Senators.

Kamala, Natalie, Wendy, Thila and the EME team
