We Thank You for Being an Equal Means Equal Member

By Kamala, Natalie, Wendy, Thila and the EME team

As 2020 draws to a close and we face a new year, we at Equal Means Equal have hope that 2021 will finally see women’s equality legalized.

We would like to thank you for your important support of our fight to enshrine the Equal Rights Amendment in the U.S. Constitution. Having you by our side gives us strength in our struggle. But, as you are well aware, the battle has not yet been won.

We continue the fight for equality on multiple fronts including: our lawsuit, Equal Means Equal et al v David Ferriero, which moves to First District Court of Appeals next week; and our campaign to have the incoming administration simply #PublishERA by directing the U.S. Archivist, the aforementioned David Ferriero, to do the non-discretionary ministerial task he is required to do by law.

We aren’t going to lie – it has been an extremely tough period. However, despite monumental challenges to our organization, we have managed to nonetheless push forward and continue this fight on behalf of all American women and people. Please take a look at our incredible trajectory over the past four years.  Much of it has been because of you – our members.

We are now in the final phase of our advocacy both in the courts and in Congress – one way or another, the matter of whether half the U.S. population shall have equal rights in our Constitution will be settled this year and we plan to keep the American women, and no other interest or agenda, front and center on both fronts.

Thank you for being there with us, every step of the way.

We know that times are tough. Know that ERA will help improve a great many things in our society and we are extremely close to making it a reality. Please consider this request to help us keep the fight alive and make a gift of whatever size to the Heroica Foundation before the end of this year. Every dollar donated to Equal Means Equal is expended in the execution of well-planned strategy in the service of our single mission:  ERA ratification, publication and adoption. Period.

Check out the new episode of EME’s podcast Woman’s Journal 2.0 and get up to speed on everything that has happened with the Equal Rights Amendment fight since our victory in Virginia at the beginning of this year.

As you know by now, we at Equal Means Equal will not be deterred, dissuaded or dismissed. In these extraordinary times, we must continue to fight to ensure that all Americans have an equal opportunity in life, as well as guaranteed equal protections under law. We thank you, again, for being a member of Equal Means Equal, as we press ever towards a more just future.  Please consider sharing this email and bringing more voices into the struggle for ERA.

With gratitude and respect,

Kamala Lopez, Natalie White, Wendy Murphy, Thilagavathi Siva & the entire Equal Means Equal team
