Day 4 Thursday November 16th – Silent Sentinel Vigil

By Elizabeth Croydon AKA Jane Snow

Virginia and Illinois. Any takers? That’s my bet for the next two states to ratify the ERA. My money is on Virginia and Illinois.

Where is your money? Florida? Georgia? We should start a betting pool, like football fans call point spreads , we should call what states ratify the ERA next and by how much. Person that calls the state that’s closest to the vote count wins.
Natalie brought me Hot Chocolate. A stranger turned new friend brought me a sandwich from Pret a Manger – or as I like to call it – Pet a Manager.
The kindness of strangers never ceases to amaze me. I welcome it. The knowledge of our American History by foreigners never ceases to amaze me either, An Australian in town for a conference on the Middle East interprets a bunch of Muslim women’s questions for me. “Are you dressed like a suffragette?” “Can we take a picture with you?” I’m happy to smile and answer with a yes.
Park closed early due to a suspicious situation with an unclaimed back pack. The owner was found and situation no longer a concern but I suspect the secret service just wanted to go home after that… anyway they called it quits. We called it quits.
We need more recruits. We must pace ourselves. Winter is coming.
Join me on the Silent Sentinel Challenge. Bring some homemade holiday goodies.
Immer.
